The children are settling into the new term although the weather especially the snow caused much excitement on Friday!
We welcomed two trainee teaching students from the University of Cumbria on Wednesday who will be working in Class 4 until half term. We will also welcome a trainee teaching student from Edge Hill who will be working in Class 3 from next week until the end of term. It is always lovely to welcome and have trainee teacher students in school and part of our commitment to training teachers of the future. We regularly receive very positive feedback and students enjoy their time here. I think the success of that is definitely the fantastic children and friendly staff!
It was unfortunate that the Class 5 trip to Jodrell Bank had to be cancelled on Friday due to the poor weather but it has now been rearranged for Monday 23rd January. The new class topic is ‘Stargazers’ so hopefully the children will gain lots of new information and experience a great day.
In our assembly on Friday we shared a certificate of achievement and thanks from Bolton Hospice for Class 3 who raised £155.30 from their Cake Sale last term. We did the rocket celebration, ask your child what this is. This certificate will be displayed in school on our ‘Reaching out to others’ board. Well done again Class 3 for reaching out to others in need.
