Happy New Year to you all and welcome back!
The children certainly seemed excited and pleased to be back to school and keen to share their Christmas news!
It was lovely to see them all and break in gently with the first two days. We had an assembly each day and the opportunity to reflect on the Feast of the Epiphany. We talked about the gifts we can bring to the baby Jesus, our love and ourselves. We also thought about how we can share that with others. The children also brought awards and trophies from home that we celebrated on Friday. We didn’t have Stars of the Week, raffle ticket winners or House of the Week as we had only done two days. We will be fully up and running next week!
The children have made a great start to the spring term. Class 3 had a wonderful start with a visit from the ‘Birds of Prey’ trust who wowed them with magnificent owls and a hawk – flying around the hall! The children loved it and it gives them a fantastic start to their new topic ‘Predators’. I am sure you can find out all about that on their class page.
We look forward to our first full week and the following events:
- Two teaching students from Cumbria University beginning their placement in Class 4 until half term.
- Class 5 trip to Jodrell Bank on Friday as part of their new topic
There will be an important letter coming home tomorrow (9.1.17) about punctuality and reminders about our safeguarding procedures. Please read the letter it will also be posted on the website for your reference. The dates for this term will also be updated on the website this week so you can note them in your diaries.
I look forward to an excellent week, may the light of Christ shine brightly in our hearts and lives!
