HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the holiday. It was GREAT to see all the children on Tuesday as we start the new spring term together. I couldn’t believe how much the children have grown in two weeks! All the children have made a super start and I think by today we are getting back into routine.
All the staff were in school on Monday for a training day so were up to speed for the children’s return on Tuesday. INSET/training days are very important to ensure training is up to date for all staff.
PSA had their first meeting of the term on Tuesday evening, thank-you to all who attended. Plans are well underway for the ‘Race Night’ on the 8th February – come and join us for a GREAT night! You will be receiving regular texts over the next few weeks about the ‘Race Night’ so please support if you can. The PSA also have some more exciting ideas about fund raising for school and all the money they raise goes straight back into school to enrich provision. Sincere thanks for ordering and buying the Christmas cards last term and Bags2School collection. Don’t forget our school lottery too!
PSA ran a ‘Coffee morning’ today for all parents, an opportunity to meet other parents enjoy a tea or coffee and a chat. Many thanks to the members of PSA who organised and ran this and to all the parents/grandparents who came. PSA coffee mornings take place on the first Friday of each term – pop in, all welcome!
Class 3 had a very exciting ‘Birds of Prey’ workshop on Wednesday morning. It was wonderful to see the beautiful owls flying around the hall. The children loved it and it fits in their current class topic. The children were FANTASTIC – WELL DONE CLASS 3!
In awards assembly today we awarded 100% attendance certificates for 100% attendance last term. We had 56 children who achieved this last term resulting in 27% of the whole school getting 100% attendance in a term. This is a good result but it would be great if we can do even better this term. We will be awarding these certificates each term and end of the year for 100% for the whole year. WELL DONE to all those children who received a certificate – GREAT ACHIEVEMENT!
In our assembly on Tuesday we focussed on the Feast of the Epiphany, the visit of the three wise men as the final part of our Christmas journey. We talked about the gift of love that we can give to Jesus and to one another.
It was great to hear in our Awards assembly today about Stars of the week who were chosen for showing kindness to others. We continue to live by our Mission statement tag line every day ‘A unique family in faith, love and learning’.
