Head Teacher’s Blog 28.10.19-1.11.19

Hi Everyone,

WELL DONE everyone on a GREAT first week back and it has been busy! I do hope you all had a lovely half term holiday – it has been brilliant to see everyone back this week!

We started the week by talking about the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in our assembly on Monday and it has been lovely to see children starting to buy their poppies and wearing them from today. The poppies will be on sale all next week as we approach Remembrance Sunday on the 10th November. The children were great at answering questions in assembly and we talked about the Feast of All Saints today and ‘November to Remember’.

There was great excitement yesterday as the children could dress up in their Halloween costumes if they wished and of course the Halloween Disco. The children all looked amazing and the Disco was GREAT! Thank-you for your support all money raised goes into school fund so we can continue to enrich our provision for the children.

The School Council ran their pumpkin competition and the entries were FANTASTIC! Thank-you again for your support, the School Council want the money raised to go to ‘Cash for Kids’ so we will be sorting a cheque to send to the charity.

Year 6 had ‘Heights and weights’ done today, this is a national NHS programme for all primary schools. Year 6 took it all in their stride and then went on their walk in the local area as part of their topic work plus a visit to Haslam park as their class reward! Class 6 were brilliant on their walk and enjoyed the park – WELL DONE YEAR 6!

Class 4 had the ‘LUSH’ workshop this morning as part of their topic work on ‘Potions’ and thoroughly enjoyed it! They have all made a bath bomb to take home and school smelt wonderful! The children were brilliant in the workshop and got two class rewards – WELL DONE CLASS 4!

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation/First confession in church:                               Thursday 19th March 7pm
  • Sacrament of the Eucharist/First Holy Communion Mass:                     Sunday 21st June 1pm

PSA News

The PSA will be doing the Christmas Card design project this half term and the children are busy with their designs. These will then go to print and you will receive information about how you can order your child’s designed Christmas card.

This was a very successful project last year and well supported by parents, it also raises vital money for school.

Thank-you for your support and to the PSA for organising it.

Sporting News

There will be some competitions and sporting events this half term but due to the change in weather and daylight hours this will be less. We will keep you posted!
