Another good week everyone – WELL DONE! My apologies my Blog has only been published today it was ready Friday but I had a few technical difficulties!
Everyone is working hard and we have talked in assembly about ‘Going for our Goals’. Goals that we have in school and at home, we compared that with the goal Jesus had to find his twelve apostles. We reflected on that scripture story in assembly and asked for God’s help as we try to go for our goals.
The snow caused much excitement this week but thank-you for your patience and support as we move through the winter months!
Please don’t forget the next BIG PSA event is the ‘RACE NIGHT’ on Friday 8th February. This is fun and great family night – please read the posters displayed round school for further information and come and join us! We are also looking for sponsors for races and any parent volunteers for the evening – please call into the main office for further details!
Our Road Safety Ambassadors Archie and Libby spoke at assembly today and launched two new competitions for this term. In KS1 it is a map and the children haver to find the safest way to school. KS2 will have road safety quizzes Y3 and Y4 together and Y5 and Y6 together. There are some great prizes and another opportunity for the children to test their road safety knowledge! Please have a go at these competitions – test your road safety knowledge!
We ended the week with our ‘Wear your Onesie’ day to raise funds for JDRF a charity that supports young people with type 1 diabetes and their families. Money raised so far is £228 – FANTASTIC!! Thank-you so much for your support! The children we have in school who are type 1 were really pleased and I think everyone enjoyed wearing their Onesies or pyjamas!!

Reminders for next week
- Tues. – MATHS DAY we are having a whole day of mathematical investigation and exploration! ‘The Problem Solving Company’ are coming into school to deliver workshops with every class. We are looking forward to lots of maths fun! Ask your child/children about it at the end of the day!
- Wed. -Reception and KS1 Mass on the theme of ‘Friendship’. Mass is at 11am in the hall, Reception and KS1 parents are all welcome!I hope you all have a lovely and enjoyable weekend. We have had quite a lot of children who have been poorly this week so I hope they feel better and are able to return to school on Monday.
The children are very good at sharing their prayer intentions in assembly and thinking of others. Today in assembly some children asked us to pray for another child in their class who wasn’t well, it was lovely to see how much they cared and also knew that their prayers would make a difference. St Bernard had great devotion to Our Lady and knew the importance of prayer in his daily life so our prayer life in school is very important. The children are wonderful at praying so I think St Bernard would be pleased!
We look forward to another great week!
