Head Teacher’s Blog 14.1.19-18.1.19

Hi Everyone,

Another GREAT everyone – WELL DONE!

The Year 3 Sacramental Programme  children were excellent on Tuesday in their preparation session – WELL DONE Year 3! They are now preparing to receive their first sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation/First confession in March during Lent.  Please keep them in your prayers as they continue on their Sacramental journey.

Class 1 had a very exciting afternoon yesterday when they had the ‘Dinosaur Workshop’! This fits in with their current class topic and all the children enjoyed it and were GREAT – WELL DONE Year 1!

We all cheered and prayed for Miss Hubbard this week as she gets married this weekend! She will return next week and her new name will be Mrs Ashford, so we will all try to remember! I am sure you join us in wishing her a wonderful day and every blessing for her future happiness.

You will have received our ‘Severe weather’ warning letter today so please do read it so you know the procedure in the event of severe weather. We will notify you by text as soon as possible if school was closed or needed to close earlier due to severe weather.

Reminders for next week

  • Friday – ‘Wear your Onesie’ day to raise money type 1 diabetes charity JDRF. If your child hasn’t got a Onesie they can wear pyjamas and pelase bring a donation.

In our assembly this week we shared the Gospel story of Jesus’ baptism by St John the Baptist and how Jesus and John had their own goals to follow. We have talked about our goals this term and how we can work towards them. We reminded ourselves about Jesus’ message of ‘loving others as we love ourselves’. We try to live by this every day in school and hope we can bring that message home to our families too.

I hope you all have a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable weekend – we will see if there is any more snow! The children were very excited today when it began to snow!

God bless

Mrs Doodson
